Septarian is nicknamed the "Dragon Stone", as it is thought to resemble dragon eggs. This interesting pattern is created by the infilling of minerals into angular fractures and voids that form due to drying out of a ball of sediment called a concretion. The yellow mineral is calcite, brown is aragonite (a form of calcite), and the gray is limestone (sedimentary rock made of calcite). Septaria is Latin for partition. Septarian is said to promote courage and enhance public speaking.
